Kakano 1

Beach Trip On Wednesday Kakano 1 and 3 went to New Brighton beach to learn all about our beaches. We learnt about natural items on the beach and manmade items.                                 We went on a scavenger hunt to find these different things. Some natural items that we found were driftwood/sticks, seaweed, shells, stones, sand and feathers. Some manmade items we found were bits of rubbish like; cans, plastic, rope, clothing and bottles . We learnt that we need to look after our beaches by taking our rubbish away with us and putting it in the correct bins. We need to make sure we don't leave rubbish on the roads so that it doesn't go into the waterways and out to sea. 

This week in Kakano 1 we have been practicing writing our names, letters and some high frequency words. Take a look at how good we are getting at forming letters and writing our names!
